Pocket-knives; scissors. -- Relates to means for locking the folding blades of pocket-knives, scissors, button hooks, &c. in their open or closed positions. A button, lug, pin, &c. D, which may be of various shapes, is loosely held in a hollow in the handle A and falls by its own weight into a hollow in the tang end of the blade C or between the blade and the back spring. The knife &c. has to be held button side uppermost to allow the button to fall and secure the blade, and to release the blade, the handle is inverted. The button may be held in the blade and fall into a hollow in the handle.Cataloged By
