Scissors for cutting buttonholes of various lengths and at the required distance from the edge of the cloth and from one another. One jaw A has a cutting-blade B of length equal to the longest hole required to be cut, and provided with a hollow cutter C for cutting the eye at the end of the buttonhole. The movable bed-piece E, of length equal to that of the blades B and cutter C conjointly, is adjustable on the jaw D by means of a pin or screw F working in a slot G. The material to be operated upon is placed on the bed E, previously adjusted to suit the length of hole required. The distance of the buttonhole from the edge of the material is regulated by the adjustable stop H, and an adjustable distance bracket fixed to the side of the apparatus serves to regulate the distances of the buttonholes from one another.Cataloged By
