Scissors; bread cutters. -- Each of the blades is provided with a curved slot, forming the segment of a circle struck from a point at a slight distance from the blades, in which a stud or pin fixed to the opposite blade acts, so as to guide the blades in their movement. By this arrangement a shearing action is given to the blades. In a modification, each blade is provided with a projection on its lower side, the cutting-edge of the one and the opposite edge of the other, in which the pivot stud or pin is fitted. A curved slot and stud keep the two blades in close contact and cause a drawing action between them.
