Scissors and shears. -- The blades, with short tangs, are forged from steel, and shanks and bows of malleable iron are then cast on to them. The blades are now coated with a vitreous compound and embedded in fireclay, while the shanks and bows are exposed to the action of a decarbonising-agent to soften and toughen them, after which they are finished in the usual matter.Cataloged By
