4633. Finney, T. March 3. Scissors and shears. -- The halves engage one another by means of two pins and two slots at an angle, the pins being on one half and the slots in the other, or a pin and a slot belonging to each half. The Figure shows the former construction. The drawings of the Specification show modifications produced by inclining the slots at various angles and making one of them curved or elliptical. On of the blades is in consequence made shorter than the other, and the usual shoulder of the shank may be absent from one or both. The invention may be applied to shearing machines.Cataloged By
