Scissors and shears. -- The joint is so constructed that the blades or jaws may be easily separated and put together again whenever desired. The arrangement is specially suitable for surgical scissors. A section of the joint pin is shown. The part c1 is not circular, but is a T-piece equal in width to the contracted part c. In jointing the jaws together the T-piece is passed through a hole in the first blade and a slot in the second into a circular recess beyond, when the pin is turned to set the T-piece crosswise to the slot. The pin is kept in this position by a strip which is attached to the head c and sprung into a notch on the first blade.Cataloged By
