Scissors. -- For cutting cardboard, leather, or linoleum, one of the blades a is made with a knife edge and the other b with a broad toothed edge. Fig. 3 shows a perpendicular edge with spur teeth having a slight chamfer h on the inside. Figs. 4 and 5 show in elevation and plan dog teeth with a slight rise outwards from a flat inner margin. Fig. 10 shows teeth running down the outer face of the blade. Sometimes the teeth are on a separate strip, which is screwed to the blade, and in all forms there may be a rake towards the pivot.Cataloged By
