Shearing-instruments. -- Relates to the hand-tool described in Specification No. 17,451, A.D. 1904, for tying the ends of yarn or thread, for the use of operatives employed upon winding, warping, weaving, and lace-making machines &c. The improvements consist of a shoulder d2, formed on the blade d to prevent the ends of the loop from entering the jaws too far, and a projection or hook d1 on the blade d to prevent the loop from slipping off during the tying. When the jaws are closed, the projection becomes non-effective by passing below the surface of the jaw c.Cataloged By
