Scissors and shears; penknives and the like. -- The blades A and shanks B are joined together when made of different materials by means of interlocking tongues and recesses with a rivet as shown, or by screws, solder, or electric welding. The back of one blade may be made with a knife edge, saw teeth, or file, and may project beyond the other blade when closed.
