Description

End-pivot scissors have been in use across a wide geographical area, from the Balkans through to Asia. They are still used in some parts of Asia today. Formed from two knives joined by a pivot, they are used with two hands. They evolved from early methods of obtaining wool from sheep, and have probably been in use since the Iron Age. The nature of the pivot allows the two halves to be separated for more compact storage, and also means that the two halves can be used as individual knives
