There are various entries in the Trade Directories for shear manufacturers named George Bishop.
The first appears in Gales & Martin (1787) as a wool shear manufacturer in Brinsworth's Orchard. His mark is "G BISHOP".
In Robinson's (1797) a George Bishop with the mark "LIBERTY" is listed as a shear maker at 18 Workhouse Croft.
