Description

A traditional tool used by makers of yeot (Korean hard taffy). When used to help cut the yeot (by banging the handle onto the side of a knife or chisel) they make a loud clanging noise which helps attract attention from potential customers in a busy shopping area. Some sources suggest that they are associated with good luck when selling property - hanging scissors by the front door is traditionally said to speed up a sale.
