Description

Matthew & John Ward are listed as common scissor makers at 29 Burgess Street in Robinson's (1797). Two marks are listed next to their name: a crown image above the word "SOUND"; and a crown image above the word "WARD". They were apparently the sons of John Ward (Sketchley, 1774) and his wife, who is later listed as Widow Ward (Gales & Martin, 1787). Both used the mark "WARD" (see separate listing).
