Description

1060. Ward, D., [Sargeant, C.]. April 22 [Provisional protection only.] Shears. -- In making spring bow shears for shearing sheep or other animals, the spring bow is made separate and is attached to the elbowed ends of the handles by clips or by screws passing through slots, which permit removal of the blades or their adjustment when they are worn. The blades are made with a rib, which runs out from the back edge at a distance from the points, so as to enable the shearer to keep close to the skin of the animal.
