Shears are made with detachable blades finished from blanks, punched, or stamped out of steel of suitable quality, the shanks and bow being made of spring quality. The shank A2, Fig. 3, of the blade A is bent so as to form an incomplete tube, the lower portion A3 being cut away, as shown. This shank fits into the socket B, Fig. 2, of the handle, which is similarly bent, so as to form a split tube B2. Two lugs B3 are bent across the socket, and the portion A3 of the blades abuts against these and is prevented by them from rotating or slipping further down the socket. This may also be accomplished by riveting a key bit centrally in the socket B so that it will engage with the slot in the shank A2.Cataloged By
