Scissors. -- In folding scissors with box handles d1, d2, the handles are connected at the folding joints by a pair of coiled springs f1, f2 hinged together, which throw the scissors open as soon as the latch k is tripped. The handles then are turned into line with the blades b. Crescent plates h for the blades to bear against are pressed into the handles, and polished steel plates or washers are put at the joints to strengthen them and to relieve the friction of the springs.Cataloged By
