Description

1915. Lake, W. R., [Meserole, C. M.]. May 16. [Provisional protection only.] Spring scissors. -- The scissors can be used as clippers, and allow the work to be handled without laying them down. One shank has two rings, and both shanks are connected by a pivoted spring catch to hold the blades together when not in use; the upper blade has two rings. To keep the blades open, a band spring is connected to one of the rings and bent over to act on the shank of the lower blade, or a coiled spring may be inserted where the two blades are united on the fulcrum. To keep the blades closed, a suitable catch is employed. The scissors are used as clippers by placing the rings on the third and little fingers, and applying the thumb and fore fingers to the blades.
