Spring scissors. -- The scissors can be used as clippers, and allow the work to be handled without laying them down. One shank has two rings, and both shanks are connected by a pivoted spring catch to hold the blades together when not in use; the upper blade has two rings. To keep the blades open, a band spring is connected to one of the rings and bent over to act on the shank of the lower blade, or a coiled spring may be inserted where the two blades are united on the fulcrum. To keep the blades closed, a suitable catch is employed. The scissors are used as clippers by placing the rings on the third and little fingers, and applying the thumb and fore fingers to the blades.Cataloged By
