Scissors and shears. -- A frame is fixed to a pair of shears to facilitate cutting cloth & c. on the bias. A slotted strip of metal 1 with measuring marks upon its face is flanged at one end, to which is fixed a strip 5 carrying a grooved clamp 6, in which the shear blade rests, being clamped by a screw 10. The cloth is laid over the strip 1 and under a parallel strip 20, the end of which is bent to pass under the strip 1, the edge of the cloth being against a slotted movable gauge plate 11, which is fixed with the piece 20 to the strip 1 by a nut 17 screwing on a bolt 17 on a piece under the strip 1 having upturned flanges which fit in the slots of the gauge-piece 11.Cataloged By
