Description

2463. Clark, A. M., [Paul, J. F.]. Aug. 6. Scissors, pocket. Figs. 1, 2, and 3 show one form. Spaces are made in the bows b in which the ends c of the blades are hinged by pins. The bows act as springs for holding the scissors in the open or closed positions. A nail file may be formed on the edge of the bows. Figs. 10 and 12 show another form. The blades are jointed at c to the shanks, which are provided with springs g in the back to keep the scissors either open or closed. The bows fit one on the other, when folded, to protect the points of the blades. In a modification of this form, spiral springs are placed [partial record].
