29,122. Brandt, F. Dec. 30. Scissors are made by punching out blanks from a steel or iron bar a of the section shown in Fig. 2, and then finishing in dies to the form shown in Fig. 4. The blanks are cut so that the loops d and the stem c come from the rectangular portion of the bar, which is cleaned or scoured before being acted upon. Owing to the process being performed cold, the blades do not require further hardening.
