Scissors are made by punching out blanks from a steel or iron bar a of the section shown in Fig. 2, and then finishing in dies to the form shown in Fig. 4. The blanks are cut so that the loops d and the stem c come from the rectangular portion of the bar, which is cleaned or scoured before being acted upon.
