Shears. -- An instrument for opening metal boxes or cases consists of a pair of arms a, b, connected by a pin joint at c, and shaped to suit the hand. The end d of the arm b is slotted for the blade c of the arm a to work in. A bent spring f forces the arms apart, and a loop h is provided to close the instrument when not in use. An abutment g prevents the arms from coming too closely together.Cataloged By
