Shears, sheep. The blades a and shanks b are made integral, but the spring bow d is made detachable. Each shank b is retained in an arm c of the bow by a spring f, and is clipped by the turned-in edges e, as shown in Fig. 2. In modifications, (1) the shank b, Fig. 3, is nearly circular and receives the edge e1 of the bow, (2) the shank and bow are nearly circular and have interlocking parts b2, c2, Fig. 4, (3) the edges e, Fig. 2, meet across the shank b, but such edges have interruptions, and (4) dovetailed bridge-plates connect the shank and bow. The spring f may be dispensed with if the shank b is divided longitudinally so as to form a spring clip.Cataloged By
