Scissors and shears. -- Tools consisting of two limbs, jointed together by a rivet or screw, are shaped at the desired points with cavities, round, flat, or raised surfaces, sharp edges, or points in order to produce by their opening or shutting or even on each limb different tools combined. Fig. G shows a pair of scissors with a hand vice or gripping-surfaces at C1 for drawing tacks, pins, or needles. A combination tool is also described provided with shears for cutting metal plates. Any implements, such as corkscrews or saws, may be riveted to the handles or limbs.Cataloged By
