Shears. -- A hinged plate f, Figs. 1 and 2, is adjustably attached to one of the blades b of sheep shears to act as a thumb rest and guard attachment. The plate is forked to form a knuckle-joint with a bracket e, the joint pin being fixed to the plate. The bracket e is fixed to the blade b by a screw d which may be passed through any of a series of holes c, or through slots, in the blade. The plate f rests at right-angles to the blade when the shears are in use, but can be turned back when the blade is to be sharpened.Cataloged By
