912. Malignon, H. Jan. 13. Scissors and shears. -- Relates to a method of pivoting double-armed tools and appliances, such as shears, scissors, and the like. Fig. 2 shows the joint of a shears in section. A groove is turned in the face of the boss of each member, and a loose ring d is inserted. The two members are held together by a pin a, but the ring takes the strain on the joint. Several concentric rings may be employed when necessary.Cataloged By
