Shears. -- Relates to adjusting the blades and preventing jarring in sheep shears. An opening with wedge-shaped edges is cut in a lug 1, and into this is slid a piece of leather 6, with correspondingly grooved edges. Jarring is prevented by a lug 2 coming against the piece 6 at the end of each stroke. The blades are adjusted so as not to overlap the wrong way, by the wedge-shaped piece 7, which may be pressed against the springs 8 by means of the bolt 10 working in the swellings 11, and the milled nut 12.Cataloged By
