Description

A pair of Wiss & Sons pinking shears, marked "PATENTS PENDING". American patent 1,965,443 (see below) was registered on 3rd July 1934 and the construction of these is similar, consisting of shears with blades attached to the jaws. It is likely that the shears component was manufactured by Wiss & Sons, and the blades were manufactured by a separate firm. The bows are uneven, and the pivot is reinforced. Bows and shanks have some japanning.
