A small pair of scissors with decorated quaker double wing shanks; each wing is beaded. Shoulder transition is st11, cross section is cs1, and the point is asymmetrical. They are marked BIGGS on the pivot area. There was a cutler named William Biggs whose business was established in 1810 in Stratford, London, and a breadknife for sale via Antiques Boutique is marked BIGGS in a similar style. The breadknife is dated by them to the late 1800s. The 1878 Stratford Directory also lists a William Biggs, cutler.Category
