A pair of scissors with an ivory overlay on one side of the pivot area; the reverse side is marked with "MATTHEWM[AN?] PAT SHEF". There was a scissor maker in Sheffield in the 1800s called Matthewman, so it could be one of theirs. The blade is bodkin with cs2 cross section. Shank is serpentine with neb sarum and bead neck.Category
