Description

A small pair of scissors with a Spanish shank (fluted?) and a decorated screw. Shoulder transition is st3, cross section is cs4, and the point is bodkin. There is one pairing mark clearly visible on the under. The shanks are marked BUTLER & CO. - this suggests that they could have been made by George Butler & Co, a Sheffield cutler and scissor maker, with the small size of the scissors preventing the addition of one of their additional trademarks (which included a key; and the word ART in a circle).
