Description

A pair of scissors marked SAVIGNY & CO, with file cut, open shanks. There is no shoulder transition, the cross section is cs5, and the point is bodkin. Pairing marks are visible on the unders. The scissors have a leather sheath decorated with gold coloured motifs. Savigny & Co were a London based manufacturer of scissors, razors, and surgical instruments who were in operation from the early 1700s until the mid/late 1800s.
