Description

Simon Skidmore is listed as a manufacturer of gardeners' and tailors' shears as Church Lane in Gales & Martin (1787). His mark is the image of a crown above the word "UNITY". He appears again in Robinson's (1797) as a shear maker at 40 Trippit Lane. This time his mark is just shown as the word "UNITY" although it does look like there may have been a mark above it that has been lost during copying.
