Chas. A. Strelinger & Co. were American suppliers of tools, etc, to industry. Their 1895 "A Book of Tools" illustrates a range of snips, scissors, and shears, including:
Dental Snips, for cutting light sheet metal - length of cut 1 1/2"

Double Cutting Shears, designed especially for cutting any kind of metal cylinders, equally well adapted to cutting flat, square, or irregular work

Straight or Bent Handle Trimmers, Right Hand - sizes 7" to 13"; Extra Heavy 14"
Straight Handle Trimmers, Left Hand - sizes 8 1/2" and 11"
