Description

A large pair of Tailors' Shears made by Rochus Heinisch, from the Collections of The Henry Ford. From the museum's website: "Clothes makers and manufacturers used hefty, long-bladed tailor's shears to cut through thick fabric. In the 19th century, Rochus Heinisch made some of the finest shears in America. He patented several improvements to the bows or handles of shears. His innovative designs reduced fatigue when cutting heavy cloth and made a tailor's job easier."
