Thomas Swift is listed as a fine scissor manufacturer at Smithfield in Gales & Martin (1787). His mark consists of an image of a cross above the letters "EG". A Thomas Swift also appears in Robinson's (1797) as a scissor maker at 15 Smithfield with a similar mark, this time consisting of an image of a cross above "E6".
