William Norcross is listed as a scissor maker in Sketchley (1774). His address is Lambert Street, and his mark is the letters "CROS". In Gales & Martin, (1787) he appears as William & John Norcross, fine scissor makers, at Barker Pool. This time the mark is "CROSS". William Norcross appears again in Robinson's (1797) at 23 Burgess Street, and with the mark "CROS". Lambert Street is just on the edge of the current city centre; Barker's Pool and Burgers Street are both central.
