This scrapbook was created by Lanier Bartlett. Lanier was born at the Camron-Stanford House in 1879. This album contains hundreds of pieces of 19th century paper ephemera, including advertisements, trade cards, greeting cards, post cards, magazine pages, and more. Content Note: Please note that some of the 19th century advertisements reflect racial and cultural stereotypes and racist depictions that may be uncomfortable for some viewers. CSH would like to acknowledge that the views and opinions expressed in some of these advertisements do not reflect the the beliefs or views of our institution today. It is important to understand the larger historical context of the world in which they were created, and it is up to us all to ensure those stereotypes and the harm they perpetuate do not continue into the future.
