Invitation to a reception honoring the wedding of Franklina C. Gray to William Bartlett. The wedding and subsequent receptions were held at the Camron-Stanford House. Writing to her mother from the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, where Franklina and William honeymooned, Franklina wrote: "If you send the Clarence over tomorrow couldn’t you pack my white satin & the veil handkerchief & gloves (&fan) & send them over for me to have my photo taken while here; it will save me the trouble of coming over for the purpose. If I only had time I would tell you some of the compliments paid you to the house & the wedding. Several said that they should always remember the wedding as a beautiful fairy scene." March 22, 1878, letters courtesy of Tracey Bartlett.
