Washington Keeton was born April 24, 1820, in Vinton County, Ohio, and died on August 7, 1904. Washington grew up on his family farm, which consisted of 320 acres that make up a portion of Lake Hope State Park. Washington Keeton allowed a cemetery to be created on his property when his daughter Mary died. Mary was the first to be buried in Brown Township Cemetery, known today as Keeton Cemetery.Location
