Name/Title
Division of Natural Areas and Preserves (DNAP) Patch (1975 - 2007)Description
The embroidered patch features a trilobite, orchid, and heron and is the original DNAP patch design.
When DNAP was established, the program's goal was to establish a state system of nature preserves that possess exceptional values or qualities that illustrate or assist in the interpretation of the natural history of Ohio. These qualities may be of outstanding geological features (trilobite, also the state's fossil), ecological communities, rare habitats, and areas protective of rare/endangered species (orchid). In addition, the inclusion of the Scenic Rivers Program into DNAP was also recognized (heron).
The patch was placed on law enforcement uniforms' right and left shoulders and on the left shoulder or left chest of non-law enforcement uniforms.
