Pink, white, and black coverlet made by 'Grandmother' Matilda Rose Benjamin Keeton. The family raised the flax, spun it into thread, and woven it into cloth. Dyes used are unknown. Geometric overshot design.Context
Matilda Benjamin was the wife of Washington Keeton. She was born March 7, 1826, and died June 16, 1912. The 320-acre Keeton farm made up a portion of Lake Hope State Park. Matilda and Washington Keeton are buried at Keeton Cemetery located in Lake Hope State Park.Location
