Description

Merrianne was a geologist and editor in the Technical Publications Section. She began her career with the Survey in 1973 as an assistant editor after receiving a bachelor’s in biology and a masters in geology from Bowling Green State University. She was promoted to editor in 1978. During her time as editor, she contributed to a large number of Survey publications, maps, posters, abstracts, and papers, including Fossils of Ohio and the first edition of Minerals of Ohio. Marianne retired in 2003 and valiantly fought cancer until she passed away in 2020. She was dearly loved by her coworkers, and contributed to the survey in the many years following her retirement.
