Description

During ice fishing, one means of catching fish is to use a tip-up. A tip-up allows someone to drop a line in a hole and move away from that line. When a fish is caught, the flag will lift. Multiple holes can be set with a tip-up, although Ohio law limits that to no more than seven per person. This ice fishing set was manufactured by the Arctic Fisherman in Beaver Dam, WI. The Beaver Dam's original rail tip-up, first manufactured in the early 1970s, is "freezeproof, windproof, and foolproof" according to advertisements. This tip-up is marked with the name R. Scherer.
