DAVID SCHRACK BORN NOV. 20. 1784 DIED OCT. 22. 1861 BUILT MALABAR INN 1820 ______________ David Schrack was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Richland County in 1819. Mr. Schrack married Elizabeth Mogle and together they were the parents of fourteen children. David and Elizabeth named their children Charles, John, David, Sarah, Catharine, Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth, Rachel, Sophia, Susan, and Ann. He purchased 4 acres and a cabin for his family. After some time, Mr. Schrack was able to build a larger house on the property. Today this house serves as the Malabar Farm Restaurant and previously as the Malabar Inn. Mr. Schrack was considered wealthy and a mighty hunter of deer, turkey, and bear.
