Description

Mindy Thomas was born in Mercer County, Ohio, and is a graduate of Miami University (OH) and the University of Oregon. She joined the Ohio Geological Survey in 2021 as the Lake Erie Geologist. As the Lake Erie Geologist, Mindy researches and documents the geologic framework and processes on the Lake Erie coast, specifically mapping coastal erosion resulting in Coastal Erosion Area maps that are produced by the Ohio Geological Survey. She also works to collect sub-bottom profiler and side-scan sonar data of the nearshore sediment and environment.
