Description

This 1925 Ohio Fishing License button was manufactured by American Art Works in Coshocton, Ohio. Printed in black, white, and green, the button features a bass jumping out of a swirl of green water. The border of the pin reads road & reel Ohio license 1925. More than 60,000 fishing licenses were issued in the state that year, and the number would almost double by 1935.

Use

1925 was the first and only year Ohio used a button as its fishing license. Other states, such as Pennsylvania, continued using buttons for decades.
