Architectural Sketch, Louis Andre LamoreuxContext
In 1939, Louis Bromfield hired Mansfield architect Louis Lamoreux to design a house for him at his new farm in southern Richland County, Ohio. Lamoreux would also serve as the general contractor for the work. Lamoreux did the drawing shown here. It shows the old Clement Herring home just before construction began on Bromfield's Big House. The old farmhouse was incorporated into the new structure. It is that part of the Big House to the left of the main entrance.
Louis Andre Lamoreux was born in Pennsylvania in 1895 and opened an architectural office in Mansfield, Ohio in 1922. Lamoreux died in November of 1975.
