Description

This wood and metal coffee grinder has a cast-iron hand crank and drawer to catch grindings. Also called a lap coffee mill, this grinder was likely built and used in the early 19th century. People have found a way to grind coffee beans into coffee grounds for hundreds of years. From stone to wood to mortar and pestle to hand-crank and then electric, the coffee grinder continues to be fine-tuned by coffee-loving entrepreneurs.
