Description

This cast iron monkey doorstop was most likely produced circa 1930 by The Hubley Manufacturing Company. Unfortunately, Hubley placed its trademark on the inside of its doorstops, and this doorstop has no visible manufacturing or trademarks. The Hubley Manufacturing Company, located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was founded by John Hubley in 1894. The company produced cast-iron toys, doorstops, and bookends. While its foundry closed in 1949, Hubley's design department stayed in business until 1969 when the company was sold to Gabriel Industries.
