Loren emigrated to Union County with his parents, Ephriam and Esther Keyes, when he was seventeen years of age. Loren Keyes married Lydia Morse in December of 1822. They had twelve children together. Loren and Lydia's son Perley M. Keyes married Rose Bigelow, daughter of Eliphus and Eliza Bigelow.
